The Fourth of July

I love the fourth of July. I love the picnics, the family time, the music, the patriotism, the parades, and just the feeling of it. It seems like we haven't really celebrated it as much as I would like the past few years because of various circumstances (such as babies), but I try to make sure to dress everyone in red, white, and blue. I have no recollection of the fourth last year. Abby and Jane had only been home from the hospital for a few days, and I have no idea what happened. This year, we drove to Logan to visit my grandma and grandpa Griffin. It was so great to see them. They are so dear, and so important in my life. Grandpa just got back surgery, but he's recovering well. He bought a brand spankin' new jeep cherokee which is waiting to take him fishin'. I think he will recover quickly so he can get to the fishin' in that new jeep. That made our fourth of July- to see them.

I really love this country, and I feel so blessed to live here, and to have the freedoms we enjoy- such as the simple things we did that day... Visited, played, drove, and watched fireworks.

Jane is getting ready to pounce on that leaf, like a wild animal to it's prey.

Abby's cute smile

A major freedom they enjoy, and don't realize many children in the world do not have this same freedom- playing in the park.
Jane makes it her RIGHT to sit in this drawer, take out everything, and play like crazy :)

This is the favorite item in the house for the 1 year old- the best $3 I've ever spent!!!
Happy (late) Fourth of July!!I like saying that better than Independence Day for some reason. I don't know why.
